Dawn. Light crept along the veil of bamboo trees that were strewn across the countless quiet hills for miles. An orange ocean broke through the canopy of trees in a display of exclusive beauty limited to morning only. The soft soil and the stalks of green that pierced the heavens showered the forest, awakening birds that chimed and sung a hymn of awakening. Nature's inherent beauty and gaia's wonder was evident, dew which rested upon the perfectly vertical structures of greenery glimmered in a coalescing mixture of wondrous light and nature glow. The breeze that cut through the expanse was brisk but not cold, comforting and soothing, something that couldn't be felt in other worlds of destruction and everlasting chaos. It was something that Sarutahiko had never seen before.
Pushing open the door to his personally built cabin, he was greeting with calm light and soothing breezes that pushed through his cropped hair. The smile was undeniable, it radiated happiness that could never be felt in his days of merciless torture. The irony of obtaining a virtuous lifestyle of grace and comfort was amazing, considering the sins he had generated in his past life...how had he come to be in a world that knew no darkness? It was as if the balance consisted of fresh light, with a speckle of darkness that went unnoticed by the microscope of the universe's inspection. Infact, it was so comforting that Masashi had purposely abandoned his previous blades of torture and done something that no other legend of such high stature would ever dream of.
He broke his knowledge of every destructive art from his mind, shattering it and scattering it across his mental plane. Then with a single breath, he had decimated his housing centers of spiritual power. The connecting between soul, body, and mind had been irreparably damaged to a point in which he would never be able to visit the scrolls of harmful techniques again. And even if he were to, he'd find no hope in attempting to utilize any inhumane abilities aside from his normal advanced genetics that were apart of his royal dynasty and heritage alone.
"Wow..."
Masashi let out a final word of acknowledgement, before turning to look at the unsplit pieces of wood on the side of his cabin. Even if he was free from violence there was much to do to maintain a lifestyle, things that he didn't mind taking care of. Limping over, he shifted and grasped the axe before beginning an attempt to cut the pieces of wood into two. Total relaxation and dedication to maintain his own harmonized setting that he just
knew
would never be disrupted by anything of dramatic or foul origin.
Atleast, he thought so.

Drag.
"Man...I missed my weed..."
Another heavy drag.
Then relaxation. Those plump ivory marshmallows sifting across the ocean of baby blue in freedom was a beautiful sight. They were up there...chillin' and relaxing in nature's palm, relaxing in the smothering grip of the autumn breezes. Sarutahiko couldn't take it, he wanted to surf the winds with the clouds one day as a symbol of freedom. A dream that he could work towards, something unrealistic but worth perusing. Perhaps he'd put his life on the line for the sake of being able to become one with the very nature of gaia and its forces.
One more heavy drag.
The used drug was crushed into his palm, causing him to feel the sting of the still freshly lit medicine. The smile that curled along the edges of his lips were undeniable, they expressed bliss in the form of contentment and halcyon settlement. At the time being, he was just outside of the bamboo forest, perhaps in the middle of no where. Upon a jagged hill covered in grass that extended upwards to an outlook over the vast boundless sea of emerald grass. Taking a stand after a wobbling stagger upwards onto his feet, he watched the clouds drift and the blades of grass blow.
He was out of drugs.
"Ah shit..."

The unmistakable scent of burning Cannabis drifted lazily along the breeze, coming from the leafy expanse of bamboo. A small and unassuming young woman stepped into the clearing, her features shadowed by her cloak hood. A dull red glow erupted from within the shadow, revealing an unnaturally pale face before it died down at the tip of the joint. The tip flared red again, giving the woman's pale and petite face an almost garish appearance, before she pulled the joint from her mouth. After a few moments, and a few more steps toward the hermit, she exhaled slowly.
"I am the Pale Lady," she said succinctly, tossing back her hood before taking another hit from the joint. "My twin brother is the Red Mage, and he has gone missing. You were his teacher; I expect answers."
