The Key Of Solomon Agency [HAS RESTARTED!]
«
on:

Okay, so Alv has left KOSA in Andrew Blade's care. I have been speaking to Andy through texting, and he has a few things to say.
BUT FIRST!!!!!
I need an interest list of people still wanting to RP this thing. I will be going through within the next few days and pm'ing old members that haven't replied here to see if they're still lurking Getaway. So, please state your name if you're interested. That would be spectacular.
INTERESTED PEOPLE
Andrew Blade
Faithy
Aewyn
Cream
Jader
Roze
Jameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
NEXT
He wants everyone to know that when he starts running he won't restart it. He'll just be continuing wherever it was left off. HOWEVER! [Scared yet?] There will be no rune requirement for powers or Magic. His reference will be old world of darkness and he suggests using wiki to see what he's referring to. Also, anyone can be what they want to be,
but
no angels, raw demons, and half demons. They can be demons possessing a recently dead or comatose human. Otherwise, werewolves and vampires are mostly go, but they'll probably fall under world of darkness as far as limits go.
Any suggestions are great and I'll pass them onto Andy.
I think that's it.
<_<;
So, yeah... post your interest here.

I'm interested, but I actually liked the concept of rune magic from the original thread. Magic tends to be OP and/or cliched in a lot of roleplays, and I thought the rune requirement was an intriguing way of handling it.

Using runes is fine, but not mandatory.

I think the rune system should be for more adept magic users that use the runes to further augment their magical abilities. Like Damien's, my character, arms have Native American tribal designs etched into them that boost his spiritual ability when communicating with the supernatural as well as performing Exorcisms. Considering that I listed Exorcism as his specialty, I think using augmentations like this should be allowed.
However, I think it should be more associated with the 3.5 D&D rule set when it comes to the differences between a Sorcerer and a Wizard. Sorcerers produce magic through sheer will, charisma, and natural talent. Their magic is wild, unpredictable, powerful, and untamed. A Wizard casts spells by studying them, practicing them, and scribing them in their Spellbook. Their magic is focused, concentrated, and well controlled.
So what I'm driving at here is that there should be two schools of thought as far as magic goes in this RP. One individual may choose to simply use magic and control it by sheer force of will, allowing them to cast spells spontaneously and even instantaneously at times. The drawback being the spells are sometimes harder to control and predict. Another may decide to use runes, spell books, or artifacts to more properly harness and control their magical aptitude, but instead must prepare the spells beforehand or even slip into a trance in order to concentrate for more higher level spells.
Just saying. >_>
That's my opinion.

Andy: Sure, whatev. I'm not the magic expert. but i do want to distinguish between magic and supernatural abilities. Some are just inherent or gained powers. magic is supernatural, supernatural abilities aren't magic. I have nothing against runes or anyone using magical abilities, i just want to stay away from over-powered pc's.
Also, he said he'll be starting this up middle of June.

I pretty much made her join. You need to get a character made, young lady.

Game on lads and lasses. I've got some time during the beginning of June i'd like to spend talking with the players, this would be my first actual GM mission. We'll see how it goes. The army is kicking my ass and taking all sorts of time away from me that could be better spent role playing and GM'ing, but i make due with what i can.
I'm back from Wyoming now and pretty well settled in at home for the time being. I'll be unavailable from the 11th to the 15th of June, but otherwise everything should be peachy keen til August. That's when the challenge will begin, but i'll keep it running.
I think we have the magic issue covered. I like how Jader expressed it, comparing inherent abilities to wild magic and learned abilities to a discipline. If anyone else has any ideas, please let me know.

if you can make it make sense, it'll work. And yeah, according to Jader's comparison, Ra would kind of be like a wizard. A sneaky assassin wizard

I'll try to get a post up sometime this coming week. I work today and tomorrow at Kohl's, and then I have to go to bed early Sunday for work Monday. So, the post will probably be either Monday or Tuesday.

Hurry up with that you. And everyone else, for that matter. I've had about four or five new characters approved and jamee's the only one to post. Shit's getting fun now, so feel free to chime in whenever, if you have questions, private message me. Faithy knows how to get a hold of me anytime, so if it's something you feel needs to be addressed right away, have her page me.
