Eli was waiting outside the interrogation room. Jason greeted him, shaking his hand as he began asking about the find. He was skeptical of the quality of information that could have been acquired so quickly, but every trail had to start somewhere.
He’d activated his second sight before preparing to go into the room, wanting to see everything that this ghoul might possess as well as grant himself immunity to any illusionary techniques it might try. If it was as strong as Eli was purveying, Jason couldn’t be too careful.
Before he’d finished conversing with the new transferee from Hong Kong, Jason turned to see if his young partner was ready as well. What he saw with his now-supernaturally-tuned eyes chilled his blood. His heart seemed to stop beating, and his eyes grew wide. All around him, everything seemed to slow down as what hovered before him began to register in his mind.
Floating alongside Jay’s pain-stricken face was an irregular, shapeless form of almost clear ectoplasmic energy. Its spindly arms appeared almost as long as Jason’s legs, and they each ended in a four-fingered hand with long, thin nails protruding from each fingertip, almost like a set of vicious knives. Its face consisted of two narrow eyes that almost looked as if they were cut into its visage by its own hands. These eyes glowed a sinister red, furthering the appearance of sadistic evil that began with a mouthful of barbed teeth, open wide in a huge grin. Rather than resemble the razor sharp fangs often brought to mind, its maw consisted of points that stuck out in every direction, sometimes originating from each other, to put together a jumble of sharp points and bristles.
Time seemed to accelerate back to normal as Jason’s reaction turned from fear to rage. The apparition was lovingly stroking Jay’s cheek with the fingers of one hand, that macabre grin on its face the whole time, while its other arm was reaching around behind the distraught paraplegic to bury its blade-like fingers deep within Jay’s back. He could see its digits within the poor girl, flexing and curling up and down her spine while obviously burying her beneath a mountain of pain and anguish. It was too engrossed in its task- too overtaken with the pleasure of administering pain- to notice the raging behemoth of a man that was Jaysin Fraser’s partner and friend until it was far too late.
Focusing and moving once more in “real time” Jason was already stepping forward, his fists transforming so quickly into their vicious state of fury that they would appear to have been set aflame to any Hunter or supernatural that could see it. Not until he was upon the specter did it realize it no longer went unnoticed, and it only had time to glance at the shadow that engulfed it before Chambers’ massive right hand swung into it with knockout power that would put Mike Tyson to shame.
Normally the spirit would have nothing to fear from a human taking a swing at it; nothing from the corporeal world could harm it. However, Jason’s intense Fury was designed by whomever had granted the gift to him for the sole purpose of harming supernatural beings. Even incorporeal spirits were not immune, and this was made blatantly apparent to those creatures by the intense red glow that emanated from his hands when it was utilized.
Smashing into the amorphous mass like it was a half-empty sandbag, the creature was knocked loose from its intended target, immediately releasing Jay from the painful hold it had inflicted upon her. Jason wasn’t keen to simply let it off so easily though. With the understanding that it could disappear at any moment once it regained its bearings, Jason struck it again. This second blow accompanied the first like the thunderclap following a lightning strike, crumpling the ghost beneath a vicious uppercut, but this time leaving something a little extra that hadn’t accompanied the first blow. Jason reared back once more to send it down with a third strike, but as soon as his hand was pulled back, it disappeared.
Glancing around quickly to ensure there was no longer a threat, Jason allowed his rage to quickly subside as he knelt next to Jay’s chair. She was breathing heavily, and her arm felt cold and clammy when Jason touched her, but she seemed to be relaxing, coming back from the panic-stricken anxiety the pain had inflicted on her.
“Somebody get a medical mage, right now!” Jason called at anyone within shouting distance. He wasn’t about to leave his partner’s side, not now, and he didn’t expect Eli to relinquish care of his prisoner just like that. Luckily, someone down the hall heard the cry, turned to see him kneeling next to an obviously distraught Agent Fraser, and rushed toward the medical wing. He didn’t know the extent of the damage, but at least now they no longer would require tests to discover the source of Jaysin’s pain. Hopefully nothing permanent had been inflicted by the phantom.
“Are you alright?” Eli inquired as he knelt down as well to inspect Chambers’ partner. He tried to make eye contact as she leaned back in her seat, relief beginning to wash over her face.
Jaysin closed her eyes slowly and re-opened them, breathing in heavy gasps, but slowly getting control of herself again. When she re-opened her eyes she turned them towards Jason at her side and smiled, sighing and laying her head against his shoulder. She didn’t see what had happened, she had only felt the pain go away after he had struck what appeared to be air beside her chair. The relief she felt wash over her had been immediate, like taking a breath of air after being held under water. She couldn’t put a coherent word together, nor even summon the strength to raise her arms, though she made a feeble attempt. Her partner saw this and took her rail-thin right forearm in his meaty paw, bringing it across her body to rest on his neck as she lay her head alongside his. She smiled again, sighing in what was almost a laugh of relief.
Chambers’ own giant hand snuck around the back of her neck to cradle her head as he tried to comfort her further.
“It’s okay, love,” he told her, having picked up the affectionate name in his time spent in London. It was one he almost never used, but he was caught up in the moment, coming down from the adrenaline rush that had his heart beating like a hummingbird’s wing. “It’s okay now. I got it. It’s gone. You’re gonna be okay.”
Fraser could barely speak, but with a little effort, managed to sigh, “Thank you,” between breaths.
Only a few moments later, a chorus of shoes slapping the tile floor announced a blonde woman clad in a white medical coat sprinting down the hall towards them. Behind her, two men wearing blue scrubs struggled to keep up.
“I was told there was an emergency,” she explained, “I came as fast as I could.”
“Agent Jaysin Fraser was just the victim of a vicious ethereal attack,” Chambers explained, “The spirit was rebuffed, but escaped into the spirit realm before it could be captured. I have reason to believe this same spirit has been the source of her pain for quite some time, and she needs to be examined immediately to see if there is any lasting damage.”
“Could you tell what kind of spirit it was?” the woman asked even as she busied herself with an initial examination of her patient. There were no obvious physical wounds of any kind, and Jaysin was fully conscious, simply exhausted by the act of enduring such pain.
“I have no idea,” Jason replied, “Spirits are not something I have a lot of field experience with.” Of course he didn’t include those experiences with his wife’s ghost.
“I’ll have to bring her into the emergency ward for tests and further examination,” the woman explained.
“Please do, and hurry,” Chambers instructed as he drew himself up from the embrace he’d held with Jay, “Unfortunately I have business here, but as soon as I’m able, I’ll come to wait on her.”
Without another word one of the men in baggy scrubs began to push Jaysin down the hall towards the elevators where they would transport her to the medical wing.
“You could go with her,” Eli told him as they both watched her go, “I can handle this suspect myself.”
“I’ve no doubt about that Agent Chen,” Chambers told him as he turned back to where the ghost had been when it had disappeared, “but I’m afraid this Vykos case is a personal one with me. You’ll have to forgive my insistence when it comes to my involvement.”
Eli nodded, being slightly familiar with the history between Jason Chambers’ team and the ancient vamire, Sacha Vykos. “As you wish,” was his response before turning to open the door to the interrogation room.
“A pity it got away,” Chen commented as a light turned on overhead, revealing the ghoul in its seat across the table from them.
“A pity for it if it thinks so,” Jason smiled wryly, “or rather, a pity for its master.”
Eli cocked an eyebrow at this remark, but silenced any questions before he could make them. Jason’s focus was now on the former human before them, and it could sense that this experience was not going to be pleasant.
Little did anyone besides Jason realize that he had tagged the spook before it could spirit itself away. There would be a vivid trail of thin red smoke available for him to follow any time in the next 24 hours. However, not even another hunter would be capable of seeing this smoke trail, for it would be apparent to Chambers alone. He had not yet decided whether he would make his intentions known to the agency or not, as their accompaniment and insistence on procedure would only hinder him. When he chose to move, he would have little time to do so before the trail disappeared.

The pain had been there - had been excruciating - and then it had been gone and Jason was by her side, cradling her exhausted body. Jaysin tried to talk or say something. She wanted to know what was going on, what had happened but she was too exhausted - mentally and physically. Whatever had caused the pain was gone now and Jaysin was left to recover.
Of all the things she thought that was causing the pain, she never expected a spirit and so when Jason was explaining it to the medic, Jay's breath caught and a fresh panic was in her eyes. Having very little energy, it didn't last for long. She couldn't even stay tense. Despite the excruciating pain being gone, her body was aching, trying to recover from the ordeal it had gone through and her mind was trying to process what Jason was saying.
Before she knew it she was taken away. The medic ran some tests and they were waiting for the results now. Jaysin was attached to a drip to give her vital nutrients and liquids to rehydrate her. She was still really weak but all she was focused on was getting back out to Jason. She wanted to know what he'd seen and what had happened. Her mind was turning at all the different things his words could have meant.
Her worse nightmare had come true though. A demon had got inside her, causing herself to become paralysed a few years before. Now another thing had attached itself to her. She could deal with the supernatural. Give Jason and the team the information they needed. What she couldn't deal with was the supernatural coming into direct contact with her. They all seemed to want to cause her some kind of pain. One of her arms was suffering pins and needles, slowly getting it's feeling back, her other arm seemed to still be in a paralysed state. The medic had said though that it would most likely wear off.
A couple of hours later her test results came back clear but Jaysin needed to recover and rest for a few days. It might not have done any physical damage yet, but it had come close and her body needed the time to recover back to full strength. Unfortunately, Jaysin didn't want that. She wanted to get up and find Jason. Once her voice had found it's way back into her throat with her energy, she was arguing with the medics.
"I'm going to find my partner. I need answers."
"Agent Fraser, you need to rest. You'll do yourself more damage moving about."
"Half of my body is paralysed!" She snapped in frustration, "what more damage could I possibly do?" It was a rhetorical question.
"Please, Agent Fraser. This is for your own good." She told the agent.
Jaysin was having none of it though. She was still trying to find a way to get off the bed, but that was difficult with one arm under temporary paralysis and half her body rendered useless. "Help me into my chair. I want to go and find my partner." She ordered.
The medic shook her head. "We're under orders to keep you here."
"That's a lie. Who told you that?"
"Sargeant Chambers." The medic was lying, but she knew that Jason would want his partner there and that it was in Jaysin's best interest to stay in bed, not that she could go anywhere really.
When no one tried to help her Jaysin resigned, giving up for the moment. She would try and talk them into letting get out of the medic wing again shortly. If they wouldn't allow her to Jason, maybe they would let her move to her room so she could 'rest' aka search her books until she got some answers about what had attacked her. Jason had seen something and she wanted to know what it was. If it was some sort of spirit, it was likely that it would come back and attack her again.
And that thought sent pure fear traveling up her spine, threatening it's own paralysis of her body. Not long later, she was back to arguing with the medics and trying to get her exhausted body out of the bed while the medics tried to talk her out of what she was trying to do. Jaysin seemed to be having none of it though. Jason hadn't shown up yet and she wanted to get answers. If he wasn't coming to her, then she'd either go to him or go to her books.

Eli and Jason spent over three hours interrogating the creature across the table from them, but no matter what they tried, the ghoul wouldn’t- or couldn’t- tell them anything useful. After the first hour, it was no longer defiance in his eyes that told Jason he wouldn’t speak, but rather fear that swam through his mind like a ravenous shark, daring him to talk. A few times, after being convinced he’d be safe under KOSA protection, he had begun to say something, only to grimace and wince in pain, struggling with himself before finally giving in and lapsing into a state of gasping recovery. Towards the end, he struggled even more fiercely, only to collapse and writhe in what seemed to be a kind of seizure. Further questioning was obviously pointless.
In the end, Chambers and Chen relented, realizing that whatever relevant information this former human had, something was preventing him from talking. Hopefully, holding him under their custody would weaken whatever force or bond that was silencing him over time. All they could do was wait and see.
The experience had nearly exhausted Jason mentally, but as soon as he turned toward the door to leave, he was reminded of the smoky red trail waiting for him in the hallway, and was rejuvenated with new vigor. His step livened as he reached for the door handle and a wicked smile crossed his face. Thinking of what his partner had been going through these past months pained him, but knowing that he would now be able to find someone who would answer for it filled him with a sense of purpose, and his fetish for violence was straining in anticipation.
No sooner had he stepped into the hallway, however, than he was nearly tackled by a small Asian woman. Eli stepped out of the way and cocked an eyebrow as he saw the petite figure of Parker Richards almost bowl the giant of a man over.
“Jason!” the woman exclaimed in high-pitched elation as she hung from around his neck. Recovering from his initial surprise, Chambers quickly wrapped his arms around the woman and lifted her off the ground in a tight hug. She was the last thing he was expecting right now.
“Parker!” he smiled at his happy surprise, using her human name rather than her demonic one, as it wasn’t exactly common knowledge throughout the agency that Parker Richards was in fact, the fallen angel, Avoreth, and that Jason was her thrall. They had been partners for a few years before she’d been transferred to Australia, but they had become very close in that time.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, finally setting her down and gazing at her. She was extraordinarily beautiful, wearing a simple pair of black pants with a loose white dress shirt that showed just enough cleavage to entice, but not enough to encourage. Her short, dark hair fell down just to her neck, with several strands idly hanging in front of her soft brown eyes before she brushed them behind her ear. The broad smile across her lips was unmistakably genuine, bringing an additional light to her eyes that made her appear even more attractive.
“I’m here on the Vykos case,” she explained, her smile remaining despite the serious nature of her explanation, “I came as soon as I realized what was happening, and I brought someone who can help. We have some things to talk about, in addition to catching up.”
“Parker, I’d love to,” Jason insisted, “but something’s come up, and I need to take care of it. Eli, I’m going to personally request your assistance too; I don’t know how this is going to go.”
He spent the next five minutes explaining Jaysin’s bouts with pain, and the sudden events that revealed the true culprit only a few hours ago.
“I’m going to track this thing down and find out who is behind it. I don’t know where it’s going, nor do I have any solid clues as to who or what could be using a wraith to attack Jay. I don’t have time to get clearance for this mission from higher, and so I won’t be authorized to put together an official team. I’d be very grateful for any back-up I could get.”
Eli simply nodded, though something about his demeanor was slightly more stand-offish than Jason had anticipated. All the same, he was happy for the assistance.
“Of course you can count on me,” the tiny woman declared, “I have a new partner I brought from Australia that should prove helpful as well. Arthur’s actually the reason I needed to talk to you, but it can wait.”
Jason nodded, slightly curious about this new Arthur, especially since it was a matter that Avoreth felt required discussing with him, but he agreed, it would have to wait.
“Right then,” Jason began to head towards the garage, “I’m going to take my motorcycle out and track this thing. I’m going to need you to stay behind and come later with more specific gear for me as soon as I scope the place out. I’ve got my 500 on me,” he patted the massive revolver holstered in a custom sheath at his right thigh, “and both Paras,” he opened his brown leather jacket, indicating to the two full-size automatic pistols holstered in a shoulder harness against his tight black t-shirt, “so I should be okay if anything comes up before you arrive, but I’ll wait for you before I take any offensive action.”
“Sounds good,” the demon said, “I’ll go grab Arthur and I’ll wait for your word before I select what I bring out with me.”
“I’ll go prepare a preliminary load-out as well,” Eli informed him, “let me put my number in your phone so you can reach me as soon as you’ve figured out the situation and I’ll be on my way shortly after.”
Jason handed his mobile into Eli’s outstretched hand and waited for him to quickly punch in a few digits.
“Alright,” Chambers set his jaw grimly, readying himself for the violence that was sure to come, but steadying himself to stay rational, “I’ll get back to you as soon as I have a better idea of what’s going on.”
Exchanging brief farewells, they each went their separate way. Stopping at his designated spot in the parking garage, Jason ignored the fact that his helmet was still in his room and revved the engine on his street bike to life before tearing out to follow the path that the red smoke had left for him.
The spirit hadn’t done him the courtesy of traveling a route linear with the streets of London, so it took some time and educated guessing to accurately follow the tell-tale path. It took thirty minutes of winding through the city before it was apparent the ghost had actually left for the countryside. Fifteen more minutes of speeding down rural roads brought Jason to a large farmhouse protected with a tall, brick wall with lush fields of corn and wheat surrounding it on either side. The only path to the house was a long drive-way that ran into a pair of heavy wrought-iron gates.
Stopping the motorbike a half-mile from the building, Chambers dismounted and began walking along the side of the road. As he got closer, he activated his second sight for the second time that day. It wasn’t perfect, but he was able to make out a few details that gave him an idea of what awaited inside.
“Chen, it’s Chambers with a SITREP,” he announced over the phone as he phoned his fellow Hunter, “Pack for leeches. I don’t know how many, but it could be a lot. The only visual confirmation I have is symbols on the outside; it looks like we’re dealing with Sabbat.”
The announcement of Sabbat being involved brought with it a warning to tread carefully in this mission. The Sabbat were a sect of vampires that detested the civility of the Masquerade and the laws of the Kindred brought on by the elitist Camarilla, who insisted that they remain hidden within human society to preserve their status as mythical creatures of the night that allowed them to walk more freely among their prey. The Sabbat were much less conservative and hidden with their activities. They believed in a more egalitarian, anarchic lifestyle, in which they ruled over men like so many cattle, merely put on Earth for them to feed from. This rebellious nature often lead to careless use of their vampiric abilities, and a much lower regard for human life, as well as the lives of those who followed the Camarilla’s laws. The Sabbat were sadistic, brutal, and bloodthirsty. Their lack of organization that defined them was often what allowed the Camarilla to succeed in their efforts to be the dominate power in most given areas of the world. As the century had ended, however, many Sabbat elders had been awakening, handing out stark punishment to their childers of younger generations who had begun to drag the sect down. They had restructured, becoming more organized, more powerful, and in some areas had already overthrown Camarilla rule.
After it was apparent that Eli understood and had taken note of his location, Chambers sent out a telepathic call to Avoreth.
I’m going to need some firepower for this one,
he preceded before giving her his location, telling her what he’d seen, and giving her a laundry list of specific equipment to bring with her, as well as recommendations for what she and her new partner Arthur might want. Tonight was going to be a hot one.

It was dusk and Kain was leaving the mansion. The Garou elder of The Get of Fenris detected a disturbance in Gaia around London,The Wyrm has unleashed its evil stench. As Kain left the Get headquarters he transformed into his crinos form in the safety of the shadows. " Go to the country side and watch the vermin and see if they can lead us to the source of The Wyrm taint" echoed the elders orders in Kain's mind.
"I don't understand why I'm not free to just kill all these Wyrm infested scum, we should crush them whenever we get the chance. The source will reveal itself eventually til then justice should be served. "
Kain ran through the shadows and rooftops of London in his beast like state in order to reach the country side where the farmhouse these vampires stayed was under surveillance by one of his fellow garou. About two hours before sunset Kain reached his brethren on the high hill overlooking the desolate road and barn.
"Brother, the vermin rest inside while the wyrm possessed hounds pace around the building keeping watch" said his fellow garou.
"How long since someones left the building?" asked Kain while he caught his breath.
"About five hours ago a one of them came outside to feed the hounds, besides that they've been quiet" answered the garou.
Kain focused his incredibly enhanced vision on the farm and ask his fellow garou
"Have you noticed that?"
"Noticed what brother?"
"The symbols on the house, they are vampiric , go inform The Get" Kain said, eyes stilled focused on the house.
As his comrade left into the concealment of the countryside back towards the city, Kain felt uneasy.
"What is this unsettling feeling, The Wyrm is highly active in that house. I can't allow these vermin to live but i cant go against the wishes of our elder."
Kain sat there and watched the house when by the road, moving so silently and stealthy that he barely saw it if not by luck, was a man. He watched this man and noticed that he too closely watched the house.
"Who is this stranger and what is he doing out here spying on these vampires, Ill leave him be for now and see what he is up to, right now my only concern is waiting for these enemies of Gaia to make there move."

Arthur was just starting to doze off as his long trip and physicial activities and full stomach were taking their toll on him.
"Arthur....Arthur......ARTHUR!"
Arthur jumped out of bed into a psuedo kung-fu pose that would have hardly worked on even the newest of agents, as he looked around his room and there was noone there. He relaxed and stood up and regained his faculties, and realized that it was his mental link communication.
"Oh its just you Averoth, whats up?"
"Jason needs our assistance, I need you up and ready in a couple of minutes I'm on my way to your room now, I'll brief you on the situation when I get there"
Arthur nodded to himself and threw on his pants, steel toed shoes, a tight black rash guard shirt, and put on his kevlar vest and then his Punisher t-shirt. He headed to the chest at the end of his bed and got out his double chest holster and put it on over top of his vest and shirt and placed Ebony in the right holster and Ivory in the left holster, grabbed extra clips then there was a knock on his door.
"Its me."
Came a woman's voice after the knock. Arthur walked over to the door and let in a small framed dark haired woman, she made her way over to his bed and put down a bag full of equipment. He eyeballed the size of the equipment and pondered how she got it down by her self, but then he rememberd, shes a demon, her physical size probably doesn't denote her strength. He shrugged to himself and went back to his chest and put on his custom tactical belt made to hold multple clips for his guns.
"So whats going on? Whose Jason again?" He asked her, while digging through his trunk, she had talked abut him multiple times, but having not met him and been able to put a face to the man, he still did not fully know who he was.
"To answer the latter of those questions, Jason is an old friend and teammate"
Her voice then started again in his mind to keep their conversation out of the ears of those who would try to stop the impromptu mission to gain clearance.
"And to answer the first, and more important question. Jason is out on recon and has a group of Sabbat vampires, way too many for him to handle alone with his current equipment. So we are to gather supplies for him and equip ourselves and join him for this strike."
"Sabbat's huh? those are the sorta rebel vampires right?"
Still being new and not completely familiar with the different types or sects of vampires and other creatures of the night.
"Correct, and they are more out in the open with their activities, and have less regard for human life beyond just food."
Avoreth explained
"This mission will be dangerous, so be as careful as possible, there will only be four of us on this mission, Jason, myself, you and another Hunter"
Arthur had read about, and had Hunters explained to him, but had never met a seasoned one as of yet, much less worked side by side with two of them at the same time. His stomach sank and fluttered all at the same time as he started to sweat with nervousness and anticipation. Smaller missions with less danger would only require Ebony and Ivory, but since joining KOSA he has found out that other missions require much more force. So he had aquired, for special occasions, a Colt M4 carbine automatic rifle equipied with red dot sight and a 40mm grenade launcher attached to the rail under the barrel. To finish off the ensamble he attached two thigh sheaths with silver coated combat knives.
Throwing the rifle up on to his sholders in as much of a nonchalant pose as he could, he looked at Av. "So, where are we off to, and how are we gettin there?"
"When we're all set and ready I'll have you teleport us to Jason's location. Teleporting us will use up a bit more than what you're used to, so you'll have to plan for that."
"So what about the other hunter that is supposed to join us?"
"I asked him about it, and he has had some pretty unpleasant experiences with teleportation, and would rather not unless its completely necessary. So when we get there try to make a little noise as possible, we still want the element of surprise on our side."
"Ok sounds like a plan." Arthur reached over and took a hold of the girl's arm and concentrated on opening their way to where the hunter in the field was positioned. When he landed he immediately took a low position near the muscle bound soldier. As he cought his breath and looked around at the farmhouse that seemed to be pretty heavily fortified than need be for a normal farm. He studied what was in front of him, the symbols were vampiric sure enough, but nothing that he could make out in his rookie knowledge. He knew that now was not the time for pleasentries and that the mission at hand was what was important. He looked at all of the equipment and then looked at the soldier, and whispered to him
"Special Delivery, you must be Jason"

The two trained for hours, and she worked him on everything that he appeared to be lacking. In Schuyler’s mind, Orion was the baby of the two, and she really didn’t want him in KOSA. KOSA was dangerous and agents died all the time. She had nearly died several times, but that was something Orion would never know. Still, there was something that was pulling her to teach him everything so that he could defend himself. He had a lot to learn, and obviously they weren’t going to cover everything in one session; even a session that was going on three hours. He needed to understand how important it was to not only rely on himself to keep from dying, but the team as well. That was something Chambers taught her a long time ago.
Need to find Jason later and apologize.
Shoving a few strands of her crimson hair out of the way, Schuyler rushed forward, attacking Orion relentlessly. He was getting better, and had more confidence than before, which made her surer that this was the right choice. Even if she had him kicked out, he had a knack of getting into trouble, and at least if he was with KOSA, he would have teammates to rely upon. Grinning towards him, she backed off and let him get a drink of water. He was panting heavily, and sweat was coating every inch of his flesh, his upper body shirtless since it was far too hot to be wearing one.
“Alright, Orion, that’s enough for now. Go back to your room, shower, and relax. We’ll continue again later. Love ya’, bro!” Smirking, Schuyler patted his back and grabbed her purse and anything else she had tossed off to the side. Nodding, Orion grabbed his shirt, and his other items before heading with her through the rest of the gym. The agents that were in there gave him an approving look after witnessing the two training for so long.
“Love you too, Schuyler. I’m going to make you and Jason proud of me, just you wait.”
“…Orion, I need you to promise me that you’re not going to do anything stupid anymore. I know you want to make us proud, but it’s a dangerous world out there, more so for KOSA agents. I didn’t want you in KOSA to begin with, which is why I never told you what I really did. Please consider leaving and leading a safe life elsewhere.”
“Schuyler, you worry too much! It’ll be okay, I promise.I won’t do anything foolish, and won’t go out on jobs unless I’m with someone that can help back me up, okay?”
“…alright.”
The two parted ways, and both headed back to their rooms. Orion showered and redressed in a skin-tight black sleeveless shirt with a black and red unzipped hoodie letterman’s jacket over the top of it. The bottom of his lanky frame was covered in a pair of jeans, and black and red Nike’s adorned his feet. He was hungry, and after locking his room, Callahan made his way towards the cafeteria. However, he took note of Jason heading out, obviously on a mission. Still wanting to prove himself to the man, he quickly made his way to Schuyler's car, temporarily borrowing it. Taking off after the man riding the bike, Orion didn't slow down until they reached a farmhouse. Holding back, he parked away from Jason, and slid out of the car, silently making his way towards the man, determined to help out without messing things up like last time.

When Jason’s call for backup came through, Eli was already fully geared up and waiting in the underground garage. Five minutes later he was weaving through the streets of London; thirty minutes later he was tearing through the rural outskirts of the city, his custom-tuned black Mini Countryman hugging the narrow, winding lanes like a guided missile locked on target. Jason had tracked the ghost to Cudham, a quiet little village that was kilometres from anywhere and unreachable by any major road. Finding the Sabbat at the end of the trail raised a number of foreboding questions, but Eli’s concern was more immediate: the remote location meant that backup would not arrive in time should things go south. Not only were they completely blind on intel, but they were also completely on their own.
Eli was no stranger to reckless missions. A couple of years ago he’d gone into the Sierra Madre mountains of northern Philippines in the middle of monsoon season for an aswang stakeout. The torrential rains beat down on them for days before the aswang suddenly blitzed them, killing two agents instantly and forcing the remaining team members into a brutal game of cat-and-mouse. Eventually they succeeded in wiping out the enemy and found shelter from the storm, but by the time extraction came, victory tasted more bitter than sweet.
This
mission was of a different nature, but something about it felt the same, and Eli didn’t like it. He didn’t like being unprepared if he could help it, yet there were already several factors that put them at a tactical disadvantage. For one, not knowing the strength or numbers of the enemy. Had they simply stumbled upon a small territorial pack—which was typical of the Sabbat—or were they about to confront a more sinister force? And how was the ghost connected to all of this?
They sky was dark and dappled by the time Eli neared Jason’s position. As he came over the last rise, a single large farmhouse appeared in the distance and he immediately killed the car's headlights while slowing to a full stop. No doubt Avoreth and Arthur had reached Jason some time ago, thanks to their teleportation trick. Eli quickly switched off the ignition, grabbed his sword off the passenger seat, and strapped it on under the back of his jacket. Then he quick-dialed Jason.
“Agent Chambers, I’m here. I’ve got visual on the farmhouse about two hundred metres ahead, but I don’t know where you are.”

Taking some cover among the crops surrounding the house, Jason sat watching the place. His abilities had quickly attuned his vision to get a much sharper glimpse of the house from a distance without resorting to any kind of magnifying device. It was also how he was so easily able to distinguish the subtle markings around the house that identified it as Sabbat territory. The wall prevented him from seeing very much of the first floor, and all of the windows were covered. He was able to pick out the occasional sounds of dogs, but something was certainly unusual about them. They didn’t sound like normal dogs, but he couldn’t tell what would have caused the difference.
After listening for a few more minutes, his memory caught up with him. He’d heard them before, but in an experience that was much more up close and personal. It was the same sound that Vykos’ hounds made during their mission in the Appalachians. His compound there had been set up in similar fashion- out in the middle of nowhere with high walls and patrolled by hounds that he had worked terrible flesh-crafting techniques on to make them stronger, faster, and much more vicious. Those dogs then had resembled Dobermans on steroids, if those steroids could also give them retractable spikes and a maw with fangs three times their normal size.
Jason’s blood ran cold as he thought of the possibility of Vykos being inside. The sudden sensation gave him pause; this was not how he wanted to confront the ancient vampire. His team was hastily assembled with no back-up on alert. No one in the Agency knew where they were, and two of his team members had never tangled with this particular threat before. Chen was no doubt a seasoned field professional, but Arthur was fresh. Chambers had no idea what kind of field experience the kid had, if any. This could quite possibly be a worst-case scenario for all of them.
He had to take the one advantage he saw though. The enemy didn’t know they were coming. Chambers’ abilities, aside from his legendary raging fists, were not fully known to the supernatural community. Very few people even within the Agency knew about his smoke trail tracking power, and those that did were mostly fellow Hunters. He’d taken care to stop his motorcycle a kilometer away and had walked in the ditch alongside the road until he was within 200 meters, at which time he had fallen back into the field, out of sight of any security cameras.
No doubt the building would have a surveillance system. Motion sensors and laser trip wires were almost a guarantee, but they would only be capable of watching things within the enclosure- wild animals would be roving outside in the fields far too often for them to reliably catch anything outside the walls. Most likely, there presence was still undetected. There would be at least one ghoul alert and watching the place, a human corrupted and bound to a vampire through blood, with powers similar to the leech that bound him, but nowhere nearly as strong. Vykos only had only employed two the last time they’d met, but if he were here, no doubt he would have beefed up his security measures. He had never utilized wraiths to do his dirty work back then, however, and that was the one clue that Jason clung to, hoping it meant there was another source pulling the strings within the farmhouse.
About five minutes later, Avoreth materialized next to him, along with a young blonde man Jason didn’t recognize. They were both well-armed, and had brought with them a large gym bag that no doubt contained the list of items Chambers had instructed the demon to pick up from his room.
"Special delivery,” the boy announced as he held out the bag, “you must be Jason."
“Aye,” Jason nodded as he took the bag, “and you would be Arthur. Av didn’t get a chance to tell me much about you. I certainly didn’t expect you both to arrive so abruptly.”
“Arthur holds a surprising amount of Faith,” Avoreth explained, looking at the house, “I was able to grant him quite a few powers, including teleportation.”
“That may come in handy if this goes south,” Jason replied as he dug through the bag, taking off his jacket to strap on a pair of steel bracers. “There are dogs again, I think the same ones that were back in Ohio.”
“So you think-”
“I don’t know,” Jason cut her off before she could ask the same question he’d been asking himself, “The markings are new, along with manipulating wraiths. I don’t know if he’s in there or not, but I want to plan for-”
A sudden rustling several meters behind them stopped him mid sentence. Jason immediately withdrew the massive revolver strapped to his thigh and put a finger to his lips. He strained to listen for any more sounds, but nothing came. Concerned they may have company, he began to weigh his options. The whole group sat very still, crouched among the cornstalks around them, waiting. Realizing it would be impossible to move silently towards the noise, Jason instead opted for a sudden charge, and barreled through the crops, charging toward the noise as quickly as he could, hoping to catch whatever it was off guard.
When he arrived at the site of the sound, however, he simply saw a pair of deer skittering off out of the field. His enhanced senses were tuned mostly towards supernatural signatures, so he relaxed when he realized it might have been difficult to hear any animals walking around them. The tension was thick, he wanted to get this operation started as soon as possible. Waiting gave their prey more time to discover them, and he was hoping to catch any vampires inside while they would be sleeping- before sunset, which was rapidly approaching. Chen hadn’t shown up yet, however, and so they would have to wait a bit longer.
A few minutes later, while Arthur and Avoreth briefed him on the other abilities the demon’s newest thrall had been granted, Jason had donned a pair of studded kneepads, a set of Dragonskin body armor, and was in the middle of replacing his studded gloves with a pair of cloth wraps soaked in oil. With vampires, fire was their worst enemy, and since he was capable of making himself immune to flame, lighting his hands on fire in conjunction with his usual powers would make them even more deadly. Avoreth herself was a fire manipulator, and that would be the focus of their assault. This would be a head-on hit, hard and fast. They would take them by surprise and use every advantage available.
Standing up, finally ready, Jason watched the house as the sun dipped lower towards the horizon. It was 1630, which meant they had roughly an hour and a half of sunlight left. As soon as Eli arrived, he would brief everyone on his proposed idea and they would move forward. He was loaded with four pistols, each carrying magazines full of incendiary rounds, in addition to his .500 Magnum revolver which he left full of silver. His utility belt carried several extra magazines throughout its length, as well as a pair of speed-loaders hanging from his left side. These were made for the tactical shotgun that hung from a one-point sling around his torso. The Keltec KSG was unique, in that it was a pump-action shotgun in a bullpup design, that is, it was loaded from behind the trigger mechanism. This allowed it a standard barrel length while keeping the overall weapon length remarkably short. It held two seven-round underbarrel magazine tubes, combined with the round he’d manually chambered to an impressive fifteen 12 gauge rounds. The speed loaders would allow him to fill each tube in just a few seconds rather than having to manually insert one shell at a time.
Underneath his jacket, his harness now included a relatively powerful magnetic panel on the back. This would allow him to place his shotgun out of the way when it wasn’t needed, without worrying about it bouncing around. There was also a sheath that carried a KOSA katana. These were standard issue throughout the organization, as they were made of a state-of-the-art silver-steel alloy that granted superior hardness, while still containing the deadly silver that would bring down lycanthropes. Jason didn’t anticipate going up against any shape-changers, but beheading a vampire was a quick, easy way to bring about Final Death. KOSA figured if they could include silver in the weapon without threatening its integrity, they would do so every time.
A few moments later, his cell phone vibrated. It was Eli.
“Don’t worry about where we are just yet,” he replied to Agent Chen’s query, “The three of us are going in first. I want to hit them hard and fast. As long as you have visual on the house, I want you to find a position you can easily snipe from, if you are so equipped. One hundred meters is fine, lay atop your car if you have to. I’ll need you to help pick off any hounds that try to attack us during the breach. I don’t have confirmation of how many are inside, but it’s safe to bet there are about a half-dozen dogs and at least one ghoul in addition to however many vampires are there. If things start to go pear-shaped early, don’t be afraid to get out quick. Vykos himself may be inside.”
Jason waited for that information to sink in. He didn’t know how up-to-speed Eli was, but it was a good bet he understood the gravity of that statement.
“The only reason I suspect this,” Chambers continued, “ is the dogs seem to be similar to those he had guarding his estate during my first encounter with him back in the States. They’ll shake off a lot of damage, like vampires can, but a few well-placed shots should still put them down.”
Chen didn’t comment, merely gave an affirmative reply and said he’d wait for them to start the action.
“I’m going to go in the front,” Jason turned to Avoreth and Arthur, “Arthur, I don’t know how often you can use that teleportation ability, but if you can, drop Avoreth at one back corner, and then you assault from the other. Try to find an entrance and blow it open. I want as much sunlight in this house as we can get while it’s still working for us. Subtlety is out on this one, there are too many security measures in place and I want to hit them before they see us coming, you copy?”
They both nodded, prompting Jason to pull out and attach a Bluetooth earpiece, with Chen still on the line.
“I’m gonna set up a conference call with all of you,” he told them, “since I didn’t grab a set of radios from the supply room. Utilize your headsets and maintain radio discipline while you’re on the line. I‘ll be Slayer 1, Richards is Slayer 2, Black is 3, and Chen will be 4.”
Avoreth and Arthur followed suit, answering the calls that added them to the conversation line. No other instruction was necessary. It was time.
Leaving the cornfield, Jason walked to the driveway and began heading towards the front gate. He knew as soon as he his boots hit the gravel path that anyone inside was most likely watching him. With his shotgun attached to the magnetic panel on his back, he started running towards the gate.
“Slayer 4, this is Slayer 1,” he instructed as he ran, “hit the latch.”
Chen’s weapon gave no audible signature, the only clue that something had been fired was the sound of a round striking the mechanism that held the gate closed. With the entrance no longer secure, Jason reached out and shoved with both arms, knocking the wrought iron open and allowing him a free path to the farmhouse’s front door. Immediately he heard the unnatural barking of the macabre beasts guarding the perimeter.
Trusting Chen’s covering sniper fire, Jason ignored the vicious hounds that were no doubt coming for him. His trust was rewarded with several pained whines from the beasts that rushed towards him. Knowing the capacity for damage that Vykos’ hellhounds were capable of, he assumed that though the beasts may be downed, they would be back up and after him in a few moments. Those few moments were all he needed to reach the door. Reaching around to the shotgun on his back as he ran, Jason brought the weapon to bear on the door’s bolt and shoved the barrel into the mechanism, pulling the trigger.
The resounding blast blew the lock off the door, having loaded a single breaching shell into the tube earlier. With ease, Chambers kicked in the door to find an empty front room with archways on his right and left that led to large, open rooms and a massive staircase in front of him.
“Slayer 2 and 3, this is Slayer 1. Go!”
Clearing a building usually required at least two shooters to cover each other as they worked through the rooms, but in this case, he would simply have to be extra cautious. In just a few seconds, an explosion rocked the building, announcing Black’s entrance as he no doubt utilized the M320 grenade launcher attached to his carbine to blast himself a hole.
With his weapon to bear in front of him, Jason took the room on his right, his pace fast, but cautious, as he made sure to cover every corner of the first large room he entered. A fireplace sat cold on the far end of what must have been an receiving room, made for entertaining. Past it, a broad archway led to the rest of the building. With his barrel trained in that direction, he started forward.
Popping around the corner of the archway, a figure suddenly appeared, aimed a pistol, and fired a salvo of rounds. One of them struck Chambers in the chest, his vest absorbing the round while he fired a shot of his own. The round flew, hitting the corner of the wall the target was using for cover and immediately covering it in a shower of flaming napalm. His brother had helped design these rounds for him before he’d even joined KOSA, and the organization had implemented the specialized napalm shells especially for jobs like this, taking on vampires.
Pumping another round in, Jason took cover behind a large couch, shielding him from his assailant. A quick roll brought him around to the other side, peeking behind the corner just as the gunman reached around again, sweeping his weapon across the room in search of its target. Chambers fired again quickly, catching the man in the chest and covering him with the same effect the wall had suffered. A scream cut through the echo of the blast as the ghoul fell to the ground, writhing in pain as the fire consumed him.
Quickly climbing to his feet, Jason ran forward as the flames began to grow, consuming the large area rug on the floor. A swift soccer kick to his disposed first opponent’s face with a steel-toed boot cut the painful cries short, and the body went limp. With the smell of burning flesh stinging his nostrils, Jason reported.
“Slayer 1 to all units, first room clear, one tango down.”
Continuing forward, Jason heard semi-automatic gunfire issuing from the far corner of the house. He began to wonder how Avoreth was fairing when he was answered by a hulking body flying through a boarded up window in front of him. It was one of the massive hellhounds, spikes protruding from its skin and its head turned completely around. A black tongue lolled between its teeth and its eyes were lifeless. Looking up from the body, Chambers saw Avoreth’s frame silhouette the hole she’d made as she climbed through.
“Slayer 2 and 3, this is Slayer 1,” he spoke into the earpiece even though his demon stood before him, “clear and hold the first floor. I’m going to search the upstairs. I have a feeling our hosts are most likely in the basement. If you find the entrance to it, hold it and wait for me if you can. Slayer 4, if your comfortable that the perimeter is secure, you’re clear to move in. I trust you to use your best judgment.”
With that said, Jason returned to the front hall, aiming his weapon up the stairs. Hugging the wall, he began his ascent. At the top, a hallway opened up and went around to the right. After a few meters, he was met with a hail of fully automatic gunfire. Hearing the submachine gun open up, Chambers immediately dropped, firing several rounds in return that only served to light the walls and ceiling ablaze.
“Contact upstairs!” Jason yelled across the line as he scrambled to his feet and continued up the stairs, pumping and firing as he moved to keep the shooter pinned down. Each round he spent serving to spread the conflagration. Hunched to present a smaller target, he charged the rest of the way towards the flames. Around the corner down the hall, a weapon sprayed blindly, showering the walls with bullets. Clinging to the wall the bullets hailed from, the KOSA veteran began sidestepping. Switching his shotgun to his left hand, he withdrew one of his .45’s from its holster across his chest and held it towards the corner, daring his foe to pop out again.
Once more the weapon’s barrel peeked around the corner, but nothing more, firing another volley of rounds blindly in his direction. Dropping to the ground, he executed a combat roll diagonal from the shooter even as his vest took a pair of rounds. From a new angle he was able to glimpse the shooter’s arm and fired off three rounds from his pistol, catching the hand with a round. The automatic weapon fell to the ground with a clatter as its owner withdrew his arm, swearing in pain. Taking the opportunity, Jason flung the shotgun over his shoulder and sprang from his crouched position. Firing as he charged, Chambers caught the target twice more in the torso even as his foe was drawing a secondary weapon with his uninjured hand.
This one wouldn’t go down, however, and Jason reached out, grabbing the armed hand as it came to bear. A quick jerk sent two rounds careening past his head, digging into the plaster of the walls. Now at point blank range, Chambers’ pistol dug into the target’s throat and roared, ripping through the soft flesh and splattering his face with blood.
With a second casualty to his credit, the enraged Hunter dropped the body and holstered his pistol, reclaiming his shotgun as he made his way down the hallway. A series of rooms opened up on the left, revealing several bedrooms as well as what must have been the security center, with monitors revealing scenes from outside. On the screens he could see the flames beginning to lick up the outside walls and several dead hellhounds in the yard. Avoreth was using her pyrokinetic powers to escalate the blaze, helping to consume the building.
No further targets presented themselves, and Jason took the brief pause to reload his shotgun’s empty left tube magazine with seven more rounds, dropping the empty speed-loader behind him.
“Slayer 1 to all units,” he called out over the line, “second floor clear, one more tango down. Status report.”
“Slayer 2 up,” Avoreth replied, “First floor clear, two tangos down. ”
Jason’s chest heaved as he headed down the stairs, awaiting reports from the others. The flames were rising, and Chambers knew it wouldn’t be long before he would have to activate his Fireproof edge to keep himself in the fight without being burned. He could only imagine what would await them beneath the first floor.

About two hundred metres from the farmhouse, Eli watched through his rifle scope as Jason began the assault. No sooner had he barrelled through the gate than four large hellhounds appeared, bursting out of the cornfield and converging on him. Eli quickly took aim and pulled the trigger. The high-pressure gas from his VSS sniper rifle automatically ejected the empty bullet casing and chambered a new round, allowing him to successively breathe, re-aim, and fire. One by one the hellhounds went down, and the stasis runes inscribed on each 9x39mm bullet ensured that they did not get up.
As he scanned the target area for more enemies, Eli could see little flecks of debris flaking off the house’s exterior as bullets pierced the walls from the inside. Then there was an explosion, and black smoke began to billow from somewhere at the back of the house. Suddenly the movements ceased, and the chaotic, muffled sounds coming through his earpiece was replaced by Jason’s voice.
“Slayer Four—if you’re comfortable that the perimeter is secure, you’re clear to move in. I trust you to use your best judgement.”
“Roger that,” he replied, lowering the rifle away from his face. With four quick motions he disassembled it, putting it back in its case and then throwing the case into the trunk of the car. Using his eyes now, he could see grey smoke creeping out of the first floor windows; it seemed that Jason’s plan was to burn the whole place down. He frowned. If there was evidence that any of this was connected to Vykos, they needed to acquire it and bring it back to headquarters, not destroy it in a blaze of glory. Of course if Vykos himself was in there, it was a whole other matter; burning the place down probably wouldn't be enough. But that was unlikely. From what Eli had read about the vampire known as Sacha Vykos, he was notoriously elusive. The chances of 'accidentally' finding him were slimmer than finding a diamond in a cereal box.
“Contact upstairs!”
came Jason’s voice over the line, just before Eli witnessed the second floor windows explode in a hail of gunfire.
“Slayer Four to the team, I’m coming your way.” He said as he got in the car and started the ignition. There would be time to debate tactics later. Right now he was going in.

The sun was setting fast and Kain was growing bored. The house appeared dead from his position, except for the few hounds that paced the walls. His mind was still contemplating whether to just go in and kill the helpers of The Wyrm or follow the orders of the mighty elder. If indeed there were vampires inside, his own personal vendetta for the death of his brother would be more than enough cause for him to attack.
“I should be allowed to go in and kill those fuckers for the sake of Gaia, but if I disobey my orders I could lose my status within the tribe”
While Kain argued with himself a small black car rolled up the street and shut of its headlights about 200 meters away from the farmhouse on the empty road.
“What the fuck is this?”
Kain thought to himself.
Out of the car appeared a young human with what appeared to be tactical wear, in his hands was a case. In seconds he pulled pieces of what seemed to be a rifle and put it together while simultaneously positioning himself. He took aim toward the house and was then still.
“Two humans now watch this house, plotting to attack it, what should I do?”
Not moments later, the gate to the farmhouse was shot open while the first human came out of the crops running through it. The sniper by the car was taking out the hounds while they lunged at the shotgun wielding human.
“What accuracy, this is truly fucking amazing, I must move closer”
Seconds later an explosion at the rear of the house caught Kain’s attention.
“What the heck is happening in that house, I have to go in”
The human by the car was packing up his rifle . Gunfire was coming through the windows on the second floor of the farmhouse and the bottom floor seemed to be on fire. Kain had had enough and ran out of his surveillance site towards the house, he was about 300 meters away ,but would be there in a matter of minutes. He activated the Gift of Helios and becoming fire resistant and his razor claw ability, who knows what awaited in that house. While running towards the house he thought about the humans, they must have sensed the evil in that farmhouse. Truly they were children of Gaia and were no enemies to The Get, he only hopes they understand that as well. He had taken that chance and there was no turning back now.

After handing the soldier his requested armaments and he affirmed his identity Jason said
"and you would be Arthur. Av didn’t get a chance to tell me much about you. I certainly didn’t expect you both to arrive so abruptly.”
Avoreth and Jason started having a conversation while he got himself prepared for the aparant dangers inside the house. They both seemed a little worried about the contents of the fortified farmhouse. Jason was suddenly cut off mid sentence by a rustling behind him. Arthur whipped his head around to the sound then back to the other two, Jason had already drawn his revolver and had the "shhh" jesture. Arthur readied his carbine and pointed it in the direction of the noise, ready to pump a few rounds if need be. He inhaled a breath to whisper a question, but Jason had already tore after the noise as fast as he could. He kept his gun at the ready in case the hunter would possibly need the backup. Although if the stories that Av had told him were true, he really wouldnt need it.
It turned out it was just a couple of deer that he scared off. "That was a close one huh?" Arthur half joked, trying to calm his beating heart. When he returned they quickly recanted the tale of how Arthur came to be another thrall of Avoreth, and the powers that were granted. After finishing getting ready Jason and the rest looked upon the house once again, surveying the landscape. A few moments of silence were broken by a buzzing coming from Jason. He answered the phone. He instructed the other hunter to stay back and provide cover fire from a sniper position. The last words of that sentence made Arthur's insides go hollow, his stomach sank to this feet and his knees almost gave way.
"Vykos himself may be inside.”
Knowing the reacion that Av had when he had first brought up the name, and the tone in which Jason said the warning, filled Arthur with dread. But this was no time to turn into a yellow bellied coward, Jason had chosen to allow Arthur to join on this mission, and he was not going to let him down. He quickly swallowed his fear and regained his constitution. Jason outlined the plan to the other hunter and to Av and himself and instructed that he use his teleportation ability to drop off Av at one of the back corners of the house and for him to assault the other.
"I want as much sunlight in this house as we can get while it’s still working for us. Subtlety is out on this one, there are too many security measures in place and I want to hit them before they see us coming, you copy?”
Arthur nodded his reply. Jason utilized his bluetooth headset as a makeshift radio and added Avoreth and himelf to the conversation with the other hunter, and decided codenames, he would be "Slayer 1", Avoreth was "2", Arthur was "3", and the other hunter Chen was "4."
That was all that was said, and Jason started making his way towards the farmhouse. Walking at first then took off in a run while the command was given in his ear for Chen to release the gate with a well aimed shot. The gates suddenly opened and Jason shoved them even more so and entered the compound.
Arthur's blood chilled when he heard the barking of the massive hounds he witnessed sprinting towards the open gate, and then witnessed as they yelped in pain and fell as Chen had taken them down. He heard the faint blasting of a shotgun, and then the slam of the door hitting the ground as Jason broke in the door.
"Slayer 2 and 3, this is Slayer 1. Go!”
Finally it was his turn! He grabbed ahold of Av's arm and concentrated once again on opening the portal, this time the destination was behind the farm house, on opposite corners. He landed Av in her location and wished her luck as he dissapeared by himself and brought himself to the oppsite corner. He landed on one knee and was sweating already, he shook his head and wipped the sweat from his face.
FOCUS DAMNIT
he yelled at himself, as he raised his carbine to the back of the house.
"Knock Knock" he reached to his grenade launcher and let one loose and blasted a hole through the wall. He quickly reloaded another grenade shell and made his way to the side of the house, with smoke billowing out from the small fires his first grenade had made on the structure, he looked inside and looked to be in the dining room area, a large wood table was in the middle of the room and the chairs around it had been jarred askew from the blast of the grenade. One gouhl lay face down a little ways in front of the hole writhing in pain, as another was in the doorway with a look of shock and surprise on his face. When the gouhl in the doorway made eye contact it aimed his sub machine gun and started to spray bullets at Arthur.
Arthur quickly retook his position on the outside of the house and crouched down, using the side of the building for cover he turned his body towards the inside, compensating for his new heighth he looked through his red dot lazer sight and started to fire. His adrenaline was pumping so fast he did not take time to aim his shots so he was spraying and praying. He did not see anything hit and bullets were still flying in his direction. The stunned gouhl eventually got up in a staggered and drew his handgun and slopily fired at Arthur's general direction. The firing decreased for a quick second while the fully concious gouhl dropped his clip and started to reload his next one. Arthur thought this would be the perfect time to do something risky, he slung his carbine over his shoulder and pulled out Ebony and Ivory, he knew he only had a short amount of time to complete this. He stepped fully into the hole as the concious gouhl was chambering his new clip, and the wobbly goul fired a shot that whizzed past his head.
“Slayer 1 to all units, first room clear, one tango down.”
Came Jason's voice through the bluetooth.
"Not so fast." Arthur said to his opponents with a smirk, he concentrated on a different ability. The flames from the building started waving slower, the smoke rolled outside slower, the visible world around him was moving slower as he activated his "Bullet Time" ability. As the concious gouhl raised his arms to fire his gun Arthur calmly walked into the building crunching on the wood debris he had caused, he walked past bullets in the air coming from the two firearms and placed himself inbetween the two slowed wretches pulled up a gun even with each of their heads. He concentrated on releasing the ability as they both fired their guns one last time he let them sit for a second while they gawked at where he used to stand and then pulled the trigger on each of his guns respectively and let their bodies hit the ground.
“Slayer 2 and 3, this is Slayer 1,”
Jason's voice once again rang through the wireless device.
“clear and hold the first floor. I’m going to search the upstairs. I have a feeling our hosts are most likely in the basement. If you find the entrance to it, hold it and wait for me if you can."
"Roger that." Arthur could see the flames flickering throughout the rest of the house, he positioned Ebony and Ivory to the gouhl's heads and fired another shot. "Rule #2, the double tap" he said to himself. He looked around the room for any signs of an opening to a basement, he noticed that a part of the wall was slightly a different shade than the rest, and it cast a minute shadow. Could just be a remodeled wall, but why take the chance?
“Slayer 1 to all units, second floor clear, one more tango down. Status report.”
"Slayer 2 up, first floor clear, two tangos down.”
Avoreth's voice replied to Jason
"Slayer 3 to slayer 1, I've got two tangos down in the dining room. I think I may have found an entrance underground here." Not wanting to knock on the wood to test the density and alert any possible backup located downstairs he put away Ebony and Ivory and grabbed the sub-machine, gun to conserve his own ammo, and pointed it towards the area incase something were to spring out before his own backup arived.

The Tzimisce clan were very picky about those that waited on them and dirtied their hands for them. In the mid 1500’s they hand-selected several stocks of human lineage that they thought displayed the proper attributes instrumental in the Tzimisce’s unique dealings. These families were well-taken care of by their Kindred benefactors, all quietly behind the scenes, allowing their success to stay below the radar of society, while ensuring they would always be in a position of usefulness. Blood-bonds were very common among these servants, to instill a sense of loyalty to their masters. Even today, these families were ever connected to the clan.
Daniel Brubaker had been a blood-bonded ghoul of Sacha’s for over a decade, serving it- as Vykos had long ago no longer affiliated itself as male or female- faithfully in exchange for the inhuman abilities he was granted and the privileged lifestyle he was able to lead. He had been appointed caretaker of an estate in Cudham, a rural town outside of London that Vykos had employed as a kind of safe house, to be used mostly by the Sabbat in the region when they were doing its bidding. As it was now, the house was host to several vampires under its employ, and Brubaker had been instructed to grant them whatever they needed in their work.
He and several other ghouls watched over their sleeping charges during the daytime, while they were vulnerable. Their work lately had involved the KOSA, which had only recently come on their radar, as it was their agents that had thwarted the work of Daniel’s master almost six months ago. So far, they had gone undisturbed, but that had suddenly changed on an idle Friday evening, when the house‘s wide-viewing security cameras picked up several vehicles approaching the farmhouse.
Despite an utter loathing for modern technology, its usefulness outweighed the extent to which Sacha Vykos would have to stretch itself. A simple set of prepaid cellular phones was much simpler way of instant communication than it had been forced to rely upon in the past to maintain contact with its servants. As soon as the second car had pulled up, following a man on a motorcycle, Daniel pressed the speed dial button that would connect him to his master.
“Yes?” Vykos silky voice inquired as the caller ID alerted it to who was calling.
“We have a situation, my lord.” Daniel explained even as the lanky 34-year old was walking down the stairs from the security room he had manned with another servant. He had already armed himself an H&K MP7 submachine gun and a flak jacket from the arms locker in the same room.
“Do tell…”
“Several men have parked on the side of the road outside the house. One of them, I believe, is Jason Chambers. I don’t know how they found us, but I have a bad feeling about their presence here.”
“Get out of the house through the basement tunnel,” Vykos instructed, “While you’re down there, release our guard dogs. With any luck, whatever damage these men do will be counter-balanced by their destruction. The house and its occupants are, regrettably, expendable. You have served me loyally, however, and I feel you would continue to be of more use to me alive than making a final stand there. Chambers is dangerous, and we will have to find another base for any further operations.”
“Yes, my lord.”
With that, Daniel ended the call and turned to one of the other house’s guards.
“Kill them,” were his only instructions before opening the secret armored panel in the dining room that led down a flight of stairs to the cement basement beneath the house. Down below, several Sabbat kindred slept, as did a pair of unique fail-safes Vykos kept for such emergencies. Daniel reached into his pocket and opened one of several cages with a set of keys. Inside, two men slept on the floor, their bodies naked and thin. They were kept at an unhealthy level of starvation, insuring their hunger and natural lust for blood would make them as aggressive a killer as they were meant to be.
“We have been discovered,” the golden-haired servant explained, “You may have some playmates coming down these stairs. Do with them as you please.”
The gaunt men picked themselves up slowly from the ground, a demented grin carving a gash in each face that spoke of horrendous sadism in and of itself. They gazed hungrily at the man before them, six feet and one hundred and ninety pounds of flesh ripe for the chewing. Fortunately for Daniel, Vykos’ Domination upon them prevented them from attacking anyone under the house’s refuge. Immediately, they released their hideous forms, transforming into nine-foot tall slavering monsters covered in black fur, with giant wolf-like heads sitting atop their muscular bodies. Claws extended from their fingers and jagged fangs grew from their maws. Very few creatures in the supernatural world were capable of violence like a Black Spiral Dancer.
As he traversed the basement, Daniel set about awakening the seven Kindred asleep below the building. With each one he passed along the same message.
“We’ve been discovered. The sun is still up for another hour. I have released the Dancers. Agents of KOSA are about to breach the upstairs. If they reach here, make sure they suffer.”
Each vampire smiled wickedly to themselves as they prepared to greet their guests. With all the preparations made, Daniel left through the underground tunnel. Its exit was made to look like the rest of the ground around it, covered in dirt in the middle of the field. He lifted it open silently, aware that enemies lurked outside the safe house’s walls.
His discretion was fitting, as he saw a slight man with bright red hair standing with his back towards him in the field as he came up. It would do no good for him to open fire, unfortunately, not with other enemies so close. He would only go unseen for a moment, however, as the KOSA agent somehow sensed him and began to whirl around, reaching for his weapon.
While the abilities granted to a ghoul were not on par with those of their masters, they were still considerably faster and stronger than a human’s. With unnatural speed and strength, Daniel shot from the entrance like an arrow, tackling the red-haired agent before he could turn to face him. Behind him, the sudden noise startled a pair of deer in the field, who bolted towards the road.
With one hand over the man’s mouth and the other restraining his gun-hand, Brubaker lifted the human off the ground, carrying him with the force of his tackle. Continuing to use the enhanced speed and strength Vykos had blessed him with, he hauled the smaller agent to the ditch near the road and slammed him down there, forcing the breath from his body. With his opponent unable to scream, Daniel released the hold over his mouth. Using his knee to pin down one arm and continuing to hold the other, he rained down several sharp blows to the man’s temple.
The ferocity and suddenness with which the ghoul had assaulted the agent was overwhelming, and Brubaker reached for the knife at his side to dispatch the man and finish the job. An epiphany stayed his hand at the last minute, and he smiled at how pleased his master would be if he delivered to it an agent of KOSA still breathing.
Working quickly, while the smaller man was still unconscious, Daniel stripped the redhead of his weapons and cell phone, as well as the contents of his pockets before carrying him towards the vehicle he’d arrived in. There, he opened the door and popped the trunk, depositing his cargo inside. A set of jumper cables present themselves as a fine set of restraints, and, coupled with the sling to his weapon, he hog-tied the unconscious agent there.
One more sharp blow to the temple as the man’s eyes began to flutter to consciousness prevented him from waking up before the job was finished. Satisfied with his handiwork, Daniel quietly closed the trunk and walked towards the driver’s door. Shifting the vehicle into neutral, it was simple for him to push it the length of the road to an intersection two hundred and fifty yards from the house. Once there, he started the engine and drove off, heading for his master’s mansion with a wicked smile on his face as he imagined Vykos’ reaction to his gift.

As he was approaching the group, he realized that he had parked way too far out to reach Jason in a fairly timely manner. Debating whether or not he should go back to Schuyler’s car and pull it more towards the group, Orion grabbed out a pair of binoculars from his pocket. They were collapsible, which worked out spectacular for carrying them around at any given time. Sliding them up to his face, he peered through them, noting that others had arrived. It became quickly apparent that no, he wasn’t going to reach them in time, and if he leapt into the car and zoomed forward, he might draw attention to the group. So, for now, he would just keep watch, and if they became surrounded, he’d call in backup and assist any way possible.
I hope Schuyler doesn’t get too upset that I hijacked her car. She’s pretty protective of it.
Returning to the vehicle, he climbed back inside, getting a little more comfortable while continuing to scope out the farmhouse in addition to the surroundings. So far, things on the outside were quiet, which is what he had hoped for. He wasn’t sure how many other agents knew what was going down, and if anyone else was on their way, but something told him, there wasn’t going to be any backup aside from him. Something caught his eye in the distance, and the lanky male slid out of the car, quietly closing the door. He slipped into what he considered his stealth mode, and made his way towards the shiny thing in the distance. However, as he reached the object, he realized it was nothing more than a discarded mirror.
“This is… interesting. Not something one would see out in the middle of nowhere.”
Shrugging, he stood back up, and stretched out his body. Popping his back, he yawned widely, and started to turn back to resume his stakeout. As he was turning, he spotted someone out of the corner of his eye. As he was reaching for his gun, the unknown male tackled him. The force sent the two to forward, and Orion didn’t even have a chance to scream because a hand was placed across his mouth. Growling beneath his breath, Callahan fought against the individual, quickly noting that the stranger was also restraining his gun hand. Why, oh why wasn’t he ambidextrous? Once they stopped, Orion found himself in a nearby ditch unable to breathe thanks to the force he had been forced down with.
Think Orion! You have to get yourself out of this! No one knows you’re here!
Unfortunately before he even had a chance to think of a plan, he was assaulted against the temple of his head. The force was hard enough to knock him out, and his last thought was about Schuyler and how he should have brought her with him. He slowly started to open his eyes, determined to fight back against his assailant. He could barely feel his watch on his wrist, and knew that if he could reach it, he’d be able to contact KOSA and bring help to his location thanks to the GPS inside the computer section of the watch. Before he was able to do anything however, he was hit on the head again, and fell unconscious once more.

The gunshots rang throughout the house. Kain had entered the building, deciding it would be best to tread about in human form while he followed the noise. He didn’t exactly know what he would do once he reached the source but felt compelled to see what was going on. There were bullet holes in the farm house walls and the torn up furniture. The stench of blood was all around combined with burning flesh. He moved about as stealthy as he could till he reached a set of stairs. From up top he heard footsteps coming down. He took a couple steps back towards the wall and prepared to turn into crinos form and fight the moment the stranger appeared. He froze at the sight of what he saw, it was the human, smelling of gunpowder and sweat, a shotgun in hand.
“Who the fuck are you?” the human said as he pointed his shotgun at Kain’s head.
“ I am Kain of the Get of Fenris, We have been pulling surveillance on this house for about 6 days. Why are you here? This is no place for humans.”
No sooner the human was in front of him, looking at him dead in the eyes.
“Where are your clothes?” he spoke.
Kain ignored him and stated again “Why are you here?”

Jason started to jog idly down the stairs. Eli was on his way to join them, and after hearing the report from Black concerning the possible hidden door in the dining room, he wanted every member of the hastily-assembled team on hand. He was halfway down the steps when a naked, dark-haired figure walked through the entryway Chambers had forced open, glancing curiously up at the Hunter as if he was the on that didn’t belong.
“Who the fuck are you?” Jason asked as he leveled his weapon at the character. His second sight already told him something was inhuman about the man, and it didn’t take long before his supernaturally-attuned eyesight picked out the excess body hair, unnaturally sharp fingernails, rapid breathing, and slightly enlarged canines that pointed him to the conclusion of Shapechanger. With this realization, Jason slung his shotgun so as to look less threatening, but left his right hand hovering over the silver-loaded .500 Magnum revolver at his thigh.
“I am Kain, of the Get of Fenris,” a werewolf tribe Jason recognized, “We have been pulling surveillance on this house for about six days. Why are you here? This is no place for humans.”
Jason stood at the base of the stairs now, wary of this newcomer to the scene. This newcomer had witnessed their assault and had no shown up with questions. Jason would have answered him, but he was still baffled by the shape shifter’s appearance.
“Where are your clothes…?”
The man over-looked the statement and repeated his question, “Why are you here?”
Jason rolled his eyes. It didn’t appear this one presented any threat, save for being irritated by their presence. The Get of Fenris were watching this house for a reason, obviously, and the assault had ruined their chances of finding anything out from the occupants while they were unaware of spying eyes.
“We’re from the KOSA,” Jason explained, unsure if the acronym would mean anything to the man-beast. Not very many supernaturals were familiar with the organization, and most of those that were had encountered an unpleasant experience at their hands. “A wraith attacked my partner. I followed it here. Sorry if we ruined your reconnaissance, but you’re welcome to inspect the place when we’re done, provided you don’t take anything from the site. Now if you’ll excuse me, we’re not quite finished yet.”
As he turned to make his way toward the dining room, Eli showed up, parking his car in front of the building and walking through the doorway. Jason left him to make his own deductions of the naked homid-form werewolf standing in the hallway as he strode towards the dining room to join Arthur and Avoreth.
“Douse the flames, please,” Jason requested as he joined the two other members of his team, “the fire won’t do us any good up here with the remaining occupants down below.”
The demon nodded and closed her eyes for a brief moment while taking a deep breath, concentrating. Gradually, the flames licking up the walls outside and inside the house began to shrink until they were nothing but smoldering embers. Satisfied for now, she let her breath out and smiled, glancing at the wall with a pair of submachine pistols in her hands.
With the fire taken care of, Jason began to examine the off-colored panel in the wall. Feeling around the wall he could find no obvious hand holds to grip it by, and so began glancing around the room for some kind of hidden mechanism that would open it.
“Any ideas…?” Avoreth asked.
“No…” Jason replied, “We might have to force it open.”
“I can do that,” Arthur grinned, displaying the 40mm grenade launcher attached to his carbine.
“I’m not so sure…” Jason replied as he felt along the panel again, “It might be armored. Either way, we’ve caused a bit of a ruckus up here. There’s a chance we’ve woken up whoever was downstairs, and I’d rather not walk into an ambush.”
Jason continued to look around the room, hoping to spot something. His eyes halted on the hardwood floor. There was a board with a slightly different border than those around it. Upon closer inspection, he was began to think that providing selective pressure to the board itself would probably trigger the door to open.
“This might be it,” he announced, glancing at his team. “Arthur, I need you to see if you can’t quickly recon the chamber on the other side of this door. I need to know what’s waiting for us inside. Once we know what we’re dealing with, we’ll set-up a plan of attack and move fast.”
“Chen,” he looked over at Eli, “You’re the only other Hunter on this team. If there are hostiles on the other side of this door, my plan will rely heavily on your ability to assist me once we open it up.”
If they were waiting for them, and there was a good chance they were, Jason knew this would be incredibly taxing. The longer the rest of this engagement was drawn out, the worse their chances were of success.

"If you leap awake in the mirror of a bad dream
And for a fraction of a second you can't remember where you are
Just open your window and follow your memory upstream
To the meadow in the mountain where we counted every falling star
I believe a light that shines on you will shine on you forever
And though I can't guarantee there's nothing scary hiding under your bed
I'm gonna stand guard like a postcard of a Golden Retriever
And never leave 'til I leave you with a sweet dream in your head
I'm gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you'll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
Who loved his daughter more than I love you.."
Nervous whispers and shifting gazes rested at one another before resting back upon Belle. Anger was one of the emotions she rarely felt, and when she did, she was like a child in a crazed tantrum. Except when it boiled around in her for awhile, a defined goal was set and a plan was set in motion. Inside jade eyes, you can see everything being connected and plotted. The wheels were definitely turning. There were a lot of things within KOSA's training she has learned that will play a major part to her advantage in these plans.
"Agent DuOmbre, I'm sorry we had to bring you the news."
"Oh, believe me. I am not," she smiled, and while it remained the normal crisp sweet, there was a sadistic quirk to it. She raised from the chair with a stretch. "Is that all?"
"Well, yes—"
"Good. I must be on my way. I'm taking a personal leave, if you can understand that. Though this just may fall into KOSA's lap regardless because I know my father can't be the only one."
"That's understandable, but we are aware of your reputation before your joining of the force.. the not so sweet one."
"Well, I'm sorry if you thought I was entirely perfect." Belle sighed in a dramatic exasperation. "Though I'm not. I do have history and I do have experience. Things I'm just damn good at in the proper mindset. Now if we're all done here, I have my own personal mission to set out on."
"You're going to go without back up? You know you're still a new KOSA member and do not have privileges to lead a mission team. Especially one that's just the tip of the iceberg for now."
"If ya can think of someone who can be of use to me, I'll be glad to tag them along. After reviewing their file, o'course. Just have someone bring me a couple files by my room later on, but remember this is of my
personal
leave. Not having to do with KOSA, yet. I would prefer someone knowing a thing or to about the Fae, though. I would hate to go into something unprepared and getting royally fucked." Anger gave her this slight accent she was never aware she fell into, as well as her vulgar vocabulary compared to the norm, but she quickly pivoted on the heel of her sneakers. The adrenaline of the emotion was evident in all her strong motions as she left the room and slammed the door behind her.
The wind blew harshly around her as Belle stood beside the vehicle which would take her to the plane and then to her first destination: Central America. It was there she would try to find a Water Fae, which shouldn't be too difficult. She dug up some of her own research the last couple of days as she packed from KOSA's extended library available to all agents. One of the agents from personnel informed her that there was one agent who they could send, and this agent arrived right on time. She stuffed her information that she copied from the library beneath the copy of the agent's profile. Fingers flipped it open and maintained it so it didn't blow away.
Name: Isra Sawyer
Years in the Agency: 7
Race: Human psyche
Age: 23
Height: 5'4
Weight: 128lbs
"Like what you see?" Belle assumed Isra is who spoke. It was a mere glance at the profile before looking up and being caught investigating the female's profile. She had fiery wavy hair that fell with life down her back and plunging deep ocean blue hues. She was shorter than Belle by only a few inches, but she was definitely more athletically built than Belle who was petite. Though training had her toned for the field. She could always do more extensive training for preparation of the field, but there was no time for such. Isra wore a black sleeveless turtleneck with a comfortable pair of athletic training pants. From a glance it'd look like just normal skin tight pants, but these were made to be flexible in more ways than one. She was assorted with holsters that held various weaponry. Not a lot of silver which is what Belle has seen as most common. Most of Belle's weaponry was concealed but easily and timelessly able to pull out, and a lot of it was silver.
"How much do you know about the Fae?" Belle inquired.
"Enough to ask you this: Do you really know where you are going or what you're getting yourself into?"
"As far as I'm concerned, they brought me into this. I was going on a visit to Central America to meet and greet a Water Fae from the Seelie Court. I read that they are more found during Twilight. Water Fae are peaceful, that I can be sure of, and if I meet one from the Seelie Court—"
"Now just remember.
Typically
all from the Seelie Court are nice and kind, and
typically
all from the Unseelie Court are menacing, but there is
always
an exception to the rule. I see you are not carrying anything with iron. We need to change that. Iron is deathly to the Fae." Belle nodded this lightly, she had not gotten that far into reading any combat with a Fae. She would have to remind herself that the pretty little fairy in Peter Pan and the fairy in other books aren't all sugar, spice, and everything nice. They had her father, goddamnit, and more than likely others.
"No worries! I brought more just in case. Agent Simmons said you didn't know a lot about Fairies. Oh boy, I'm glad I packed." Isra extended a trowel. Belle blinked lightly before taking it. As if reading Belle's confusion, she answered. "An Iron trowel. Just smack that badboy with it and he'll stay down." She began digging around in her bag a bit and handed Belle a bottle spray.
"Iron spray," she answered again. Belle fixed this into some of the holsters she had silver weaponry in. She would place this in her own bag of equipment in the car before climbing in herself. The other female followed in suit.
"Though to give you some credit, Central America and dealing with the Water Fae was a smart way to go about it. The Seelie Court usually dances about Twilight, and if it's raining, which is definitely possible, they'll be drawn out. They are slave to the sight and sound of water. Though they will know of our arrival. We do have a distinct odor, but with my abilities we should be able to find them and hopefully they won't feel too mischievous. That's just a common characteristic with Fae's themselves. They like to play. Some play mean."
