Yeah, I saw this coming. Take this as a lesson, kids:

Don't have dreams.

Don't try to be different or create something new or aspire to do better.

And don't ever put your trust in other people, especially not obnoxious kids (And some obnoxious adults) on the internet because most of them will just disappoint you.

</Life>

That was all a joke by the way.

Except for that last part. Totally meant that one.

Even more words of wisdom and lessons learned:

- Don't date lying, cowardly, cheating whores.

- Don't put money into something simply because other people say they'll definitely "help out" with the finances.

- Don't expect your competition to play nice or act like anything but douchebags.

- Don't base an entire community on the stupid, non-representational words of a few of its members.

- Ultimately, when it comes down to quality versus quantity, quantity is likely going to win because quality is worthless if people don't post.

- Never revive an awesome roleplay if it had previously stopped in a good place. You'll only ruin it from then on when it inevitably dies right in the middle.

- "If you build it, they will come" is a term that should never be applied to anything, especially not forums.

- IRC is still better than AJAX chat bullshit.

Does this post count towards motivating you to keep working?  I'd lend a hand on finances, as I've always said, and the offer is still on the table to give you guys whatever support you need to become successful.

Seriously.

Edit: And, for what it's worth, I don't see anyone in this space as a "competitor". We're all supposed to be working together for the roleplaying community at large -- not quibbling over petty things resulting from a total lack of communication.

I never really stopped coming here, just didn't really have the time to do anything. My life is pretty much shitting on me right now, and roleplaying and hanging around just didn't really appeal to me. I've pretty much shut everyone out right now and junk. Hopefully that'll be changing soon.

Anthony:
-Don't date lying, cowardly, cheating whores. <-- This is a given.

- Don't put money into something simply because other people say they'll definitely "help out" with the finances. <-- The people that say they'll help out, is people who you believe will actually -help out-. If there's doubts, don't do it. Though, if I could afford for myself, I would actually help out. Sad

- Don't expect your competition to play nice or act like anything but douchebags. <-- Competition the majority of the time is mean and ruthless. Can't expect anything else.

- Don't base an entire community on the stupid, non-representational words of a few of its members.  <-- Eh...

- Ultimately, when it comes down to quality versus quantity, quantity is likely going to win because quality is worthless if people don't post. <-- Then people should post, including myself! But life does get in the way.

- Never revive an awesome roleplay if it had previously stopped in a good place. You'll only ruin it from then on when it inevitably dies right in the middle. <-- Over an amount in time, yes, but if it's after a week or so it can still be left to awesomeness.

- "If you build it, they will come" is a term that should never be applied to anything, especially not forums. <-- It's more like, if you can interest people with how much effort you  build into it.

- IRC is still better than AJAX chat bullshit. <-- Amen.

Especially the old people to encourage the new people.

I personally think we need to ask users about the RP's they've created that no one has joined or they're just inactive to get rid of'em. I know I still have my own RP made, but I still need to create more to it. I'm stuck with a writer's block, and I'm also self conscious about my ideas.

Kindof a nasty circular motion thingy we've got here: there's very little activity, therefore people don't want to start an RP otherwise they think it will die or won't even start, and seeing as no one starts RPs, nobody RPs, so the whole purpose of this RPing forum is allegorically raped and killed with a plastic bag.

So we're fucked unless we get a group of semi-regular people willing to RP, and fucking do it.

We need mass PMs to see who actually browses the forums out of the members you have here, who comes only for the chat, and who's dead.

Sarah: Hrm. I don't think I'm holding up any RP's. I know I was waiting on others to post before I posted, but they haven't yet.  That's kinda shooting myself in the foot, because someone else could be waiting on me.

D:!!

Selothi: You're right.  Mass pming might also remind people and get them interested again.

April: Well that's good. Shocked.. EVERYONE'S BEEN SO BUSY. Argh.

Selothi: I'm actually currently creating an RP that I hope I can bring people to join into. Would you be interested? SAME WITH YOU APRIL? <_< Could you squeeze in an RP?

What's it about, Sarbear?  I'd like to get writing again. It seems to keep me from going on a homicidal rampage. Cheesy

Same thing here, SHARE THE IDEA, BIATCH !

RPing keeps me well busy, and if the idea's good, might kick-start the forum with any lurkers still around or whatnot.

Do y'all think asking Kou to do a mass PM to check who still actually looks at these forums is a good idea ?

Well, the ideas I've been construing for my RP Within The Dark... Well, it kinda sounds cheesy.

I want to do something with an underground Secret Society of scientists in the real world. <_< That are using people as their test subjects for a new advanced technology. And the people's disappearances are revolve around the unsolved murder cases from around the world.

It sounds horribly cliche, because I haven't had time to t hink more of an idea for it, or more of a plot line for it. Shocked.. Need some good brainstorming. Want the RP to be horror/mystery and then maybe down the road have a plot twist.... maybe <_<

Need help on how to make it better and actually functional since I've never really created an RP on my own. O_O...

"Do y'all think asking Kou to do a mass PM to check who still actually looks at these forums is a good idea ?" <-- Good idea.

I miss this site. I haven't had much time since deployment to really put down words and dedicate myself to the KOSA RPG, which seemed so promising Sad

Yeah, I wanted to join KOSA. Still do, but don't know how that's going. I mean life happens, too, so you gotta take care of that.

Welcome Meg. I like your spunk. Smiley

It's really hard to have it LIVE, too, when not even the OWNER OF THIS FORUM has joined any roleplay but apparently the ones he created. >_>... <_<... And a lot of people are busy. Like me. O_O... But I try to be on. For weeks I saw only my last posts and that was annoying glad some people have been commenting on other stuff.
