Karma

(Played by Symphony)

Description: Ghalerion Vyken

The Vykens are a relatively new race which evolved over time since the beginning of Gaius' reign. Following the catastrophic events of the Five Years Tribal War, Gaius thought it appropriate to create many more new species on the world of Ghalerion, for the sake of balancing out the duties of maintaining his planet. One of the first of these species were known as 'Vykes', creatures similar to the now-extinct 'wolf', although they were imbued with more supernatural abilities and walked on two hind legs. Over time, the Vykes began to breed with small tribal sectors of mortals on the mainland continent, giving birth to the first 'Vykens'.

The hybrid-creature known as a 'Vyken' assumes the general appearance of a regular walking mortal, although shares many characteristics of vykes, such as the wolf-like head and fur. Physically and mentally, Vykens are stronger than both regular mortals and the few remaining regular Vykes. To this point, many still remain in tribes across the ungoverned countries of Ghalerion and have created small, prosperous communities. The Vykens live in peace with the mortal peoples, but are far from hesitant to engage in battle to defend a community member.

Primary Attire
Having no other choice as an uneducated youth striving to make an existence within the glorious city of Celestia, Karma is forced to wear the most revealing garments during her work shifts at The Celestia Bathhouse. They usually range from light-colored, sheer fabrics with a shimmering essence to the flows of cloth around her thin form. Bells sometimes are sewn into the adornments to provide a soothing sound with each movement of her body, whether it be a footstep or a gesture of her hand. Jewelery always remains a minimum upon her form even when the other attending ladies always suggest more flaunting and gaudy metals in excessive regards. Feet are always bare upon the floor, Karma always having the most beautiful feet of any working lady at the Bath. Karma's hair as well is also to be envied by those around her constantly, being the thick and luxurious mass that it is while also being easily tamable to her whims. If the other ladies at the Bath would ever openly comment about anything of Karma's physical looks, it'd be their hatred of her hair's perfection.

Secondary Attire
As most of her time is spent within the Bathhouse, tending to her duties, Karma spends quite an amount of time within the establishment. But, that does not mean that she never leaves and roams the city of Celestia, which would be more often than is sounds like she has the time to do so. During these small traverses within the grand city, Karma usually dons the clothing of commoners, leaving nothing outlandish about her at all nor astounding, unlike her work. Colors are usually left to earthen shades, and rather dull ones at that as if faded and worn far too many times even though the cloth is still durable. Simple shoes adorn her feet as well, giving adequate protection against the streets yet remaining light upon her frail appendages.

Hykoken
On an occasion, the Vykryb can be seen wearing something completely contrasting to what is her norm, whether it be her working attire or her commonplace. The simplicity of it is left to be almost crude to the naked eye, but each stitch is carefully crafted and specifically placed into a patterned order. Only Karma knows the exact calculation that was made with each needle stroke as this armor was crafted by none other than herself, fixing the textile into place that would cradle her body at optimal points. Though, she knows now why she made it as such in the first place for the woman does not battle nor wish to engage into battles nor... does Karma even know anything of battle technique. It is composed of a small leather breast; that is all. It is also, not the only piece of crafted armor of hers floating in the lands of Ghalerion.

The White Dress
Made from the finest of material known to the Celestia peoples, not only can Karma craft armor, but also clothing of an extraordinaire value. Her most treasured piece is named The White Dress, it's name as simple as it's make. The beauty of her masterpiece lays not in the frills, bells, and whistles like most aristocratic clothing, but allowing the fabric itself shape into the form that it was woven to be; as if destiny was creating the fate of that material and not the adept hands of the Vykryb. It remains to this day, sleeveless and nothing more than a simple sheath of almost pristine ivory silk.

Personality: Ever Changing. That is her personality. Karma believes that each and every experience that is ever had in any given person's lifetime, shapes and molds that person into who they are as a being of Ghalerion, no matter how subtle or significant. Holding a door open from someone could inspire more kindness in another, or maybe haggling too far good of a deal will make the seller realize that perhaps he should be less lenient with lowering his prices. A confession of love and being rejected could also turn a warm heart iron cold, or even give relief, there never is any knowing. It is almost pointless to describe what kind of person she is, for Karma does not know herself nor wish to know. An action creates a response, and that response creates more actions, this is how she lives her life; by choice and consequence.

History: Vykryb, the first crossbred Vyken and Caryb.

Karma was the end result of an aggressive Vyken father who forced himself upon the helpless and frail body of an angelesque Caryb woman-child. Jonnalyn could do nothing about the powerful beast of a man that laid his body within hers to create an abomination within the pits of her belly in his drunken lust. This... this was the curse of the Caryb's beauty in Ghale, this was Jonnalyn's fate. It was one that she was accustomed to, but it was the singular moment in her life that would pave a completely new path for the Caryb and thrust her into a new existence.

She left the life of prostitution and self degradation to follow a higher path of calling, or at least that is what Jonnalyn called the turn in her life.  Wanting to give to her child what she could not obtain in life, the Caryb became a devout Udoist eventually gaining rights to remain and make a home within the Sanctuary itself. There it was that Karma was born and named for the choices that her mother made, as if to remind the Vykcryb about the lessons of choice and consequence, of actions giving in return karma whether it be good or opposite.

Jonnalyn died from complications at birth which came as no surprise to the midwives present; there was hardly an optimistic outcome when a small Caryb woman tried to give birth to the child of a Vyken father, who was far too large for her small frame. But Jonnalyn refused time and time again the offers to take the abomination from her belly to save her own life,; the Caryb never listening to their pleas. This child was the cost of her sins, and she would be allowed to pass into Eden peacefully if Karma survived the most trialing birth. And live, the newborn did.

Raised by the very midwives that attended to Jonnalyn during Karma's birth, the girl was kept secret and tucked away from all others, them not wanting a single soul to learn that a child had been born as what would now be known as a Vykyrb. What would the world come to if everyone knew that Vyken and Carybs were able to make offspring? It was...unthinkable at the time, and strange. The midwives did not like strange.

And so it was that Karma was raised in the Udoist Sanctuary for her entire childhood and even into the early years of her adulthood. She was never given the chance to gain an education, learn of her people's culture properly, nor even to know the city in which she lived. Karma, for the lack of better terms, was sheltered. The midwives took every precaution they could to allow no one to know of her existence, but unbeknown to Karma, it was in fear of her protection.

But Karma longed for freedom, to move past the small room that she had known her entire life and experience what was being hidden and kept from her; the truth. And it was that one day, her eyes were opened to the world, having run away from the Udoist Sanctuary, and she kept running until she collapsed in a small place known as Zar. And it was in this city that Karma felt the first tugs of friendship, and of love. It was the place in which she learned her talent for armor crafting, as well as clothing, and where everything was merely revealed to the young women; what she was and how it was not natural.

Even in the peace she knew in Zar, heartbreak tends to force a need to remove oneself once it is experienced, and so it was that Karma left to make a new beginning once again. For two years now, Karma has lived and worked in the Bathhouse inside Celestia, finding contentment once again. Here she goes on day by day, taking the small things in life and allowing them to make her happy even if others would seek something far more grand.
