Description:
Full Name And Title: Dr. Joseph R. L. Fox
KOSA Position:: Director of Research & Development
Gender: Male
Age: 154
Apparent Visible Age: 28
Species: Human (Lich)
Speciality: Rune Magic, Golem Creation, Chemistry, Biology, A damn fine Doctor and Surgeon to boot too. Roughly a man of the sciences.
Appearance: Joseph is of moderate height, not one to be tall or one to be short, roughly 5'11. He is on a moderate build, athletic enough to be able to run, punch and kick the common place person out but would not be able to keep up with anyone whom is pushing their own physical prowess seriously. Otherwise there is nothing amazing about him, nothing that would strike interest or garner attention compared to the next person, he has a dull brown hair colouring and his eyes seem to be a faded green, as if the spark of life was snuffed out of them a while ago. Which is true in some senses as his graying, unnaturally coloured skin might lead one to believe he has already died in a manner of speaking. Generally his hands and lower arms, neck, head and face have been powdered to hold a more natural colouring as to not disturb the passer by.
Generally one from the centuries last gone, one could say Joseph's attire is more, old fashioned. English born and bred, at times he looks like he belongs in the black and white movies of the late 1800's and early 1900's. But don't let that fool you, he can often be found in more recent clothing, but he can also be found sporting the outfits from the 70's and 80's, having lived through all these periods he seems to of picked up several senses of fashion to go by, which changes as the mood strikes him.
Personality: Joseph is a curious, friendly sort, one to break the rules if he feels they need to be broken. If he finds interest in something he will often focus on it entirely until his curiosity diminishes suitably. He also, due to his motley range of social influences over the years can talk in a rather odd fashion, or act just as similar.
History: Joseph was born into poverty in the back streets of London in the middle of the 19th century on the year 1855, he lived amongst the filth of animals and the other destitute until late childhood, in which at the time he was idiotic at best and filthy at worst just like the others. A sudden plague that threw up from the muck in the streets left most of his family dead, but Joseph alive, surprisingly this was the turning point in his life as due to this he was taken in by a relatively forward and logical Doctor, who wanted to learn why he had lived and the others hadn't.
The said Doctor was Joseph Lister, as the years passed and his curiosity dwindled upon our Joseph, our Joseph's interest in medicine and the sciences grew as he watched his now foster father administrate to the patients at his home and practice, as he constantly watched and learned. Several years on Lister was attributed to of invented the first antiseptic, something that like the invention of the wheel revolutionized mankind. Infact it was our Joseph that did it, but without a doctorate to his name he wouldn't be able to claim credit.
As further years went on, Joseph attaining such a doctorate and his disinterest in Lister now began to grow, frankly he believed he had out paced the man when patients began to turn to him, his thinking several years ahead lead many to believe he would revolutionize medicine once again, not that they knew he had already. Albeit it was this curiosity of his and interest in such things that he began to delve into old notes, books at the Doctors residential libraries, where he began to look at how the past hundred years had made progress. As a man of science he was intrigued when he stumbled upon a book of Rune Magic, alchemists of the past centuries had done wonders with such concepts albeit merely theatrical and he took it upon himself like some nobles would paint, he would learn of this magic as a past time.
Jumping ahead several years, Joseph in his late 20's, an age which he would hold for many years to come. He had found this 'magic' if anything, more an alchemy of epic proportions was not merely a set of party tricks, it was -real-, so real he had dropped everything, his job, his social interests into researching it. He would grab upon any texts, information, people who knew anything. Mention of eternal life within the passages of the book had grabbed his interest to breaking point and he was adamant he would pursue it as most humans would. Only so he might live long enough to see the fruitions of his medical revolution at work.
Preparation, this is what took place the following year, as he scoured the English Empire's traders for the material he would require, such awkward things it was from blood of one animal to parts of the next, the final ingredient was no surprise to him of the user's blood, considering he had used it several times over the past years in his research for minor conjurations. Needless to say he believed the 'spell' a success thirty years later when the 20th century dawned, his appearance never physically changing apart from hair growth and other such things, only his skin growing paler which he easily hid in consideration.
Years on, Joseph is still alive on well, keeping with the times of medicine and the sciences and his beloved Rune Magic, he began to encounter others who had such ability, in the mid 20th century he was pulled into a gentlemen's group of magic users, considering this was probably the original KOSA. Intrigued in his ability, learned nature and the fact he was what they had dubbed a Lich, a name given from folklore and legend of the past, a person who would cheat death by creating phylancy for themselves. Necessarily not in this case. otherwise his name was kept on record by such men, so when he faded into history once again as he helped progress medicines and doctorate practices alike he was called on the brink of the 21st century, by the 'new' KOSA, which he has proceeded to work with since, if only to help further his research on Rune Magic and anything else of interest.
